One of the options for the current Etsy Bloggers Carnival is to talk about Back to School and what it means to you. Oh my does that open up a barrel of monkey's in my brain! But first, isn't that messenger bag cute? If I were going back to school I'd custom order one in Purple, Black, and White embroidery.
Back to school time is hard for me in many ways. I actually enjoy school, I love learning, and while there are parts I don't like (I'm not totally insane), and I wish I could be one of those returning to school right now. It hurts that my health problems prevented me from finishing my bachelors degree, and that I may not ever be able to go back.
On the other hand, there are also things to be excited about with back to school season. Last school year my health was still so severe that we very rarely left me home alone. My asthma attacks were bad enough that leaving me alone was risking my life. I'm no longer having attacks that severe very often, so I can be alone! One of my big goals for this school year was to be able to be home alone while Mo was at school and I've achieved that goal!
I'm also glad simply that Mo is back in school. He wasn't able to find a job this summer so he's been at loose ends. I know he doesn't really like being in school, but it's good for him. It's nice to see him busy again, and of course I'm enjoying having the house to myself some! Now if I could just pass this stupid kidney stone so that I'm not in pain...

That's great that Mo is able to go to school, even if he doesn't like it much. Hopefully you'll be able to go back someday to finish the degree- could you maybe do online classes?
Thanks for the bag love :)
Wishing you school time in the future :)
It's wonderful that you've come so far that you can stay home alone while Mo goes back to school! That's a big accomplishment and I'm not counting you out on finishing your degree one day! You are so strong that you will do whatever you set your mind too - it just may take a little longer than you want but it will happen.
That's great that Mo was able to go back to school!
I'm with Merily...do online. I did my entire Bach. degree that way...loved it!!!
Back to school does bring up memories, doesn't it? You have a great deal of courage; I bet you do get to go "back" sometime soon. I didn't finish my Masters until I was almost 50!
I get the sense that you are a very strong woman. I am so impressed with what you are able to accomplish considering your health issues. The newest one you are facing right now is very difficult. You are a courageous, kind hearted, friendly person. And THAT, my friend, is QUITE an accomplishment!
this is a quote from a movie (I forget which one) Always remember to never say never. There's always a way that you can go back to school. Keep an open mind.:-)

Helping my sister struggle through getting her first batch of classes from Clark, watching my brother pick out one of my favorite classes for Chaucer at his school, hearing stories from others about their experiences... I miss school! :( I want to go back and get my Masters - just need to get this wretched Latin under my belt. XD
And I agree with Merily - check into online classes. They're quite prolific these days! I bet you could even find some for creative writing - and then you could feature those pieces on your blog too. :)
