Tacos, Butts, and the Corpse Bride

Last night I had a fantastic girls night with some of my SISTAH's! Well...and we let Gordon come along for awhile... The only proof that Gordon was there...is that he took the only two pictures that I have! There are two more blurry pictures on facebook, but they are just of Bethie's new hair do. Anyway....

Kat, our beloved sister of the heart (and my super-secret girlfriend, don't try to figure it out, you'll get a headache) moved this fall to live at the beach and go to Bible college. I haven't gotten to see her since! We've chatted (mostly via facebook and texts) but I hadn't SEEN her! Well...she came into town AND I was feeling good so we had a girls night! And since we are super nice we let Gordon come for dinner cuz he luvs her to death as a sister too.

Here we ladies are hard at work.
Kat's on the left de-tailing shrimp.
I'm in the middle, I think I'm grating cheese at the point.
Bethie's on the right making the Lime sauce :)

Once the prep work was done and it was down to cooking up the shrimp, Kat curled up on the floor. We never did figure out why she had a sudden desire to snuggle Bethie's leg, but it was adorable so Gordon took a picture! We also never figured out why he only took butt shots (not normal) last night. I WAS planning on having him take a pic of us three girls smiling for the camera but some how it never happened...

We kicked Gordon out after dinner so we could just be girls...and we ended up curling up to watch the Corpse Bride! Love that movie :) Bethie dressed up at the Corpse Bride for Halloween this year and was absolutely loverly!

Good times we're had by all - although I think we may have traumatized Gordon just a wee bit...

And the best part? I'm a wee bit tired today...but I'm still feeling good and I was out all evening after a long day of working around the house, on business stuff, and running errands! *happy dance* I'm getting stronger and healthier!

Easily Distracted!

I had a great day yesterday! It was a girls day :) First Mom and I went out to a doctors appointment (nothing big), then we went shopping and found some items I've really been needing, and then we hit the craft stores! Some of what we got was just little odds and ends we needed for different projects, but I also got this:

well, I got the yarn at least, I already had the pattern book. See the blanket on the right? I'm making that for my cousin who's having a baby in December :D I'm really excited!

This van was parked across from us. I thought it looked interesting so I snapped a picture.

Of course I didn't remember to snap any pictures the REST of the day when I was hanging out with the girls! Silly Ruthie...

Dad and Gordon are both out of town right now so Mom has the house to her self. So the two of us hosted a Mother/Daughter night :) We had my evil twin (Bethie), her Mama, and our friend Kat over. Kat's Mom is...um...toxic to be around, so both Bethie's Mama and my Mama have "adopted" Kat as their daughter :)

We talked, laughed, talked, laughed some more, watched the musical "High Society," and had a delicious burrito dinner :) It was a lot of fun! Exhausting though. But hey, that was more than worth it!

Oh, and as for the title of this post, my evil twin was wearing a shirt that said "Easily Distracted," and we all thought it was funny because it's so true! Of her...of me...of Kat...

My Evil Twin is AWESOME!

Yes, that's right, I said Evil Twin! She's not really my twin, in fact we're not even related, but since when have I ever let a little thing like that get in my way? Pffft. Actually, in the interests of full disclosure here I should mention that I am also her evil twin. "Huh?" your thinking, "how does that work?" Quite simply my friend, neither of us is well enough behaved to be the good twin...

Anyway, I love this girl dearly, and we truly are often mistaken for sisters! Last Friday there was a girls night that I had to miss because I had a migraine, so what did my dear evil twin do? She saved me a piece of pie and brought it over tonight! Doesn't it look yummy? It's Strawberry Rhubarb :D

On a different note...I've been trying to take more pictures of late. I tend to only get pictures of my jewelry or major events, and I'm tired of that. I admire the people who take tons and tons of photos of their life, and so I'm challenging myself to take more! I had this bright idea that I'd try to take a photo a day. Um. Yeah right. There are days where, with my health problems, that's just not going to happen. Not to mention this is one habit that's really going to take time for me to build! So instead I'm simply trying to take them as often as I can. I kinda sucked in January, and this is my first photo this month, but hey, it's a start!

I'll be uploading my photos to Flickr and occasionally sharing them with you. If you want to check out my few January Pics - go here. And if you want to keep up with my February photos those are going to be here. Hopefully I'll be more consistent this month than I was last month! Oh yes, and I by no means claim to be a photographer, don't expect stellar photos here people!
